Day 1 at the feeding clinic began @ 9am. We met the staff and visited the feeding room, playroom & gym. This is where Reese will be spending most of her time over the next 4 weeks. The staff was very friendly and welcomed us with open arms. It was only 15 minutes and Reese had already made friends with the staff! Reese is the youngest child in the program and the only girl!
First things first, weighing in @ 21 lbs. She continues to grow and get bigger every day! Reese will be weighed every Mon, Wed & Fri. A daily journal will be kept by the playroom staff and given to the parents at the end of the day. Comments from the staff in the playroom today....no crying and very playful! Her first two feeding sessions did not go as well! Reese cried allot and refused the spoon. As I watched through a window at my daughter crying, my heart began to break. I left the hospital for a few hours and returned for the next and final feeding session. This last one went much better. Reese will continue to practice taking the spoon with no food for the next few days. Once she accepts the dry spoon, the staff will then introduce food.
I drove back to the hotel and we waited to talk to Nicholas, Mason and daddy! This was the highlight of the day. We are able to speak to each other through web cams (Thank You! Aunt Tish, Uncle Billy, Krista & Brian). We are truly grateful to be able to see each other every day!
Please continue to visit the website.... God Bless!
